Hello. I'm Dave Redick, editor of The Preacher's Study Website. People often wish to know who is behind the sermons and articles published here. That's what this page is about.

I'm an active minister of the Hwy 20 Church of Christ in Sweet Home, Oregon. I've been preaching full-time for 31 years and have been happily married to the same sweet lady for 38 years. We have four grown children and six grandchildren. Since The Preacher's Study is primarily a one man operation (many websites are even if it is seldom evident) I'll dispense with the editorial "we's" for just a bit and address you here the way I would like to if we were sitting down together over a cup of your favorite beverage.

The Preacher's Study Website has been up and running since May of 1996. It began modestly in the early days as a free site back when there were very few web places for preachers to go, mostly "techies" were online, few domains were owned, and URLs were a mile long. As it grew in size, cost, and time commitment, it became a shareware site to help pay the bills and expand. Today it is a full service subscription site that still consumes nearly all of my free time.

Just so you know, in all these endeavors I am committed to providing my readers with the very best biblically based material I can write or find. All sermons on this site are full-text, meaning you can read them just as they were originally preached. Most come from my own pulpit. Every message has been preached at least once before it was added to the site. Each message is logically and interestingly outlined. Exegesis is down to earth, written with the ordinary listener in mind. Feedback from many of the subscribers verifies that this target is consistently hit. Each sermon contains a good amount of illustrative material. In most cases you'll find that the messages contain more than enough information to adapt to your own style or use "as is". Many subscribers simply use them as a catalyst for their own creative efforts.

If you have been a regular reader of The Preacher's Study for awhile, I want you to know how much I appreciate you. Many of you are very loyal to this effort and your words of encouragement have given me great satisfaction. My fondest desire is that we could meet together on the "other side" and spend about a thousand years or so just chatting about how good the Lord is.

If you're a newcomer, I hope you'll take some time to check things out, read (and use) the sample sermons, consider subscribing (so that maybe I can live someplace besides with my kids when I'm too old to preach!) and drop me a note with your comments.

I'll leave you with one final thought...

As you read the words on these various pages, please know that there is always a real person immediately there behind them, just a click away, who loves the Lord more than he loves life and is happy to be in His service among those who preach the Eternal Word. Let me know how the sermons affect you - good, bad, or otherwise. May God give all of us many years to serve Him! To Him be the glory.

Dave Redick
