Welcome New Subscriber!

Dave Redick here, Editor of The Preacher's Study. I'm glad you signed on with us and I want to be sure you get maximum benefit from your subscription. If you'll take a moment to read all the way to the bottom of this page, I'll do my best to orient you to what is available on the website and help you find things when you need them.

Before I begin, though, let me encourage you to put your username and password in a special place so you won't lose them. Yes, you may write for a reminder if you lose yours, but it does take a little turn-around time which might be critical if you need access immediately but can't find your access information. Please remember, too, that these are for your own use and should not be shared with others. If you know someone who could benefit from access, encourage them to purchase their own subscription. Thanks.

Now, let's get on with discovering what is here.

Once you enter your username and password, you will be taken to main page of the Premium Area. Always check here for the latest additions to the site and any special notices. In fact, the Premium Area page is the command center of the entire site so you should take a few moments to become familiar with it.

There are over 400 full-text sermons available and lessons available on The Preacher's Study website. More items are added weekly. Additional articles and lessons are also present. If you'd like to see one long list of everything that is available, look up at the left side of this page and notice the blue button marked All Titles. Click on this and wait a few seconds. A special robot will compile a fresh list of every page in the Premium Section of the website and serve it up to you. Each item listed in blue may be clicked for immediate access.

If you're looking for something on a specific topic, the Search by Word button will help you (again, see the buttons in the upper left corner of this page.) The word "grace" for instance, would show you a list of every document on the site that has that word in it. The documents with the most frequent occurrences of the word appear at the top of the list generated by this robot. Experimenting with the Query Language at the bottom of the search page will help you fine tune your searches.

If you want to check and see if there is a sermon available on a particular text, use the Search by Text button. Clicking this button will take you to a master list of Bible books. Clicking on the book you wish to search will take you to a list of sermons from that book (if any are present) arranged by chapter and verse. Searching for Romans 3:21, for instance, you would click first on the Search by Text button, then choose Romans, then scroll down until you find the passages listed under the third chapter.

If you would like to see the sermons arranged by type or series, use the Archive button. This will separate the series messages from the individual topic sermons. Clicking on a link here will take you to a list of sermons available in that category.

Finally, the Discussion Lessons button will take you to a growing series of lessons designed for small group, question and answer use. Be aware that these take a special viewer called Adobe Acrobat to view and print, which is available on the web free of charge. You'll find instructions on how to get the Acrobat Reader on the Discussion Lessons page.

Special sections are also available for Holidays and Special Occasions and Funeral Sermons. Links for these are available on the Premium Area page.

To round out your exploring, don't forget to take in the extensive list of items in the Free Area. Though these are technically outside the Premium Area, they may prove helpful to you. No sermons are found in the Free Area, but you'll find treatments of various doctrinal and practical issues there. Be aware that you may have to re-enter your username and password if you click "out" of the Premium section and wish to return. The particulars depend on what browser you are using.

As you grow more familiar with The Preacher's Study site, you may see things to suggest to help us make it better. I'm very open to constructive criticism so don't hesitate to speak up. Be nice, please, and God will be nice to you. (Matthew 5:7) The best way to communicate with me is by using the Feedback page. Though I'm still a full-time minister, I'm seldom very far away from either my desktop or laptop computer. Others sometimes work with me so they will see that I get your note if I'm away from the site very long. I put communication with Preacher's Study Subscribers near the top of my "to do" list, so you can expect a response if you write.

God bless.
